About Puggles
Puggles are great family dogs. They are friendly happy little creatures that love children and get along great with other animals. They are bright and adventurous. Puggles learn very quickly. They are cuddly lap dogs like pugs. They also have the energy and playfulness of beagles. They are the best of both breeds
.Vets are thrilled with the puggle hybrid mix designer dogs because they are much healthier and have less health issues than their purebreed counterparts. One of the greatest benefits of the beagle pug mix, is that it helps eradicate many of the breathing problems that are typical of the pug breed.
A few days before Christmas, Kerry, our new next door neighbor came over to bring us a holiday pie. When she saw our house full of puggles, she was absolutely enamored. She immediately got down on the floor and began playing with the puppies. Kerry was just beaming and exclaimed with great enthusiasm, " This is such a great mix, these puppies are so healthy!" I failed to mention, that our new neighbor happens to be a veterinarian.

Puggles are able to run and play much more than pugs because they can breathe easier. If you live an active life style and enjoy jogging, a puggle will suit your life style perfectly.
Petite puggles have the same adorable features and winning personalities as regular puggles. They generally weigh 12 to 18 pounds and are usually 5 or 6 pounds lighter than the standard size puggles. Our petite puggles are bred with a puggle mother and a very small pug father. They are therefore 3/4 pugs and tend to have more of the pug features.
A Note from Bernadette
Hello there. Firstly, I want to thank you for looking at our webiste. My name is Bernadette Santana. I work with an Amish breeder Erwin and his wife Linda. I help them to sell their adorable little puggles. Our family ties go back many years. Erwin's brother worked on my cousin's dairy farm in Pennsylvania.
My love for animals started very early. As a child, I spent all of my summers on my grandparents farm. I have loved and cared for animals all of my life. I have had every pet imaginable and even rescued white mice from a medical school when my brother Ed was a student.
As a mother of seven children, I had my hands full and was unable to have many pets because my home was filled to the brim with children. It was not uncommon for us to have an additional six or seven children, besides our own. accompany us on outtings.
It just so happened, that many of our outtings were to the New York zoos and aquariam.I would tell my children that I was taking them there so that they could see and learn about animals.But. the truth of the matter is that I also loved seeing all the great animals and sea creatures that God has made. I was always amazed by the variety and colors and shapes of the animals. I have been long convinced that God has a great sense of humor. Who else would think of making elephants with such long trunks and little tails, and such big fat hippos!
I've always dreamed of working with animals in some capacity and after moving upstate New York from Brooklyn six years ago, my lifelong dream has become a reality. I became friendly with many of the Amish in our community and was particularly impressed by the love and wisdom that Irwin and Linda possess . Irwin, our breeder, has an extensive knowledge and several years of experience with animals and his wife Linda is devoted to their dogs. She knows each puppy like I know my children. She is very attentive to the dogs and she keeps thorough records of each litter. Their little girl, Emma, featured in the photo at the top of our home page is our offical puppy handler. She plays with the puppies, carries them around like they are her baby dolls.
Our puppies are raised in a barn with cats, horses, goats, sheep, chickens and pigs. So, they are socialized with other animals. Besides, puggles in general are great with other animals, but our puggles are more social than the norm because of their enviornment.

Speaking of socialization, I have begun bringing the puppies to my home to help them socialize even more. Our house is always filled with teenagers, who love to curl up with, cuddle and play with the puggles. This helps the puppies to overcome seperation anxiety before they come to you. When they come to my house they begin to realize that there is a great new world awaiting them outside of the barn. I have a basket of toys that they can play with and they understand that they are in my home to have fun. I have consulted with vets and have been told that this is a great idea. I give the puppies a bath, so that they do not smell like the barn when they come to you. I got the hint after some of my customers commented on how much they loved the smell of the barn on our puppies.. I also have begun bringing the puppies to my house to get a jumpstart on potty training, to make your job a little easier. I must say though, that these little guys and gals are very smart and learn quickly. I think that puggles potty train quicker than any other dog I have ever known.
And, before my husband and I kiss our puppies goodbye, we take our little pooches to a Cornell trained vet to make sure that everything is fine before your puggle goes home with you. They also come with a certificate from our vet.
I truly love this work, it is the greatest business on earth for me. Our puppies get plenty of good food, and goats milk which is evident by their roly poly appearance. The Amish do not have skinny scrawny puppies. Our little puggles also get plenty of fresh air, and exercise. Prior to launching my business, most of the puppies were sold to pet shops and there was no way of knowing where the little puggles were going.

I do not wish to scare anyone. However, I do carefully screen potential customers and WILL NOT sell a puppy unless I am convinced that our puggle is going to a very good home
I am always here for you and am happy to answer any questions that you may have. I will periodically check on the progress your puppy is making. I get very emotionally involved with the puppies and with the families that get our puppies. It is very exciting to be a part of the entire process of unitng puppies with people and I love to hear from our puggle families, So, please send me e-mails, photos, updates and Christmas cards. I hope to hear from you for years to come.
